When I first came to South Africa I fell in love with its beauty and its people. This place has got so much to offer. But soon I learnt about the history of this place and the problems people face daily.

I realised that most communities are in need of transformation, but I asked what can I do to encourage this transformation. Poverty, crime and the lack of hope for a better life are the big struggles that keep so many people in despair.

At Solid Ground we are aware of the fact that true transformation starts in our hearts. We believe that the key to lasting hope lies in trusting Jesus Christ in all aspects of our lives. He is our Solid Ground. So here at Solid Ground we offer to deepen our faith through prayer and bible study. We encourage everyone to live their lives in truth and integrity and we aim to live that by example. We call that lifestyle of faith, discipleship.

But we don’t just leave it at that. At Solid Ground, we also offer skills training. Our state-of-the-art computer and graphic design courses aim to get our students internships and jobs that can sustain themselves and their families. We assist with writing CVs, and job interviews and connecting our students with possible businesses.
